This painting is the first in a series based on the Psalms in the Old Testament in the Bible.  The verse speaks of a tree being planted by rivers of waters, so my interpretation is that the root is planted deep within those waters.  Featuring blues, greens, and blacks the lighter root contrasts with the darker hues surrounding it.  This piece is available at Royal Contemporary Gallery in Florence, CO.
