"Adam Series III" by Colorado Contemporary Abstract Encaustic Artist, Susan M. Gibbons

"Adam Series III", encaustic and dirt on cradled board.  This work is continuing the series based on the book of Genesis when God creates Adam from the dirt of the earth.  Using the basic colors of the human skin: black, red, yellow, brown, and white (pink), the work symbolizes this creative act.  Also, dirt is incorporated within the piece to reflect the union between God, man, and the earth.
