The last in the Interstice - Monochrome Series, this piece plays with the concept of Interstice (the space in between).  The bands of black and white accentuate the contrast between them with subtleties within the black and white.  The edges play a crucial role as the values morph into each other.  Using the medium of encaustic (bees wax with damar crystals and pigment), the medium allows for the organic feel of the planes of value as they meet each other.
