What Was Before

What Was Before

Emptiness fills
The void that
Was left by you

Sudden grief
Takes a hold
Of what was before

Memory recalls
Of times past
And moments gone

Echoing remembrances
Sustained within
Sorrow’s heart

'Interstice - Monochrome VII', a Contemporary Abstract Piece by Colorado Encaustic Artist, Susan M. Gibbons

Image
Interstice - Monochrome VII Encaustic on Cradled Board 36" x 36" x 1.5" $2800 The last in the Interstice - Monochrome Series, this piece plays with the concept of Interstice (the space in between).  The bands of black and white accentuate the contrast between them with subtleties within the black and white.  The edges play a crucial role as the values morph into each other.  Using the medium of encaustic (bees wax with damar crystals and pigment), the medium allows for the organic feel of the planes of value as they meet each other.   For purchase information, please contact me at smgibbonsfineartist@gmail.com To see more of my work, please visit http://www.susanmgibbons.com
